Are you a vintage lover? Are you an antiquities addicted? There are a place and a time right for you, and this is the vintage and antiquities market in Verona.
When & Where
Every first Sunday of the month, San Zeno Square in Verona holds the Antiquities Market. The event is loved by the locals and also by tourists. Especially during the sunny Sundays, the market beckons lots of people, filling up the square.
Walking through the stands you’ll be carried away in so many different times. From the 70’s with its funny iconic design lamps to the beginning of 1900 with prints to decorate your living room. You may find some more modern fashion like Armani dresses from the 90’s (starting from 35 euro!), vintage sunglasses and purses or more antique pillowcases made of pure white lace.
What you’ll find
The prices are extremely convenient, you may walk back home with a new Tiffany-like lamp or a set of shabby ivory lanterns to add some romance in your living room. Depending on your home style, you may purchase some antique paintings from 1800 or more modern prints from the beginning of 1900 to some more contemporary iconic posters and beautiful antique inlaid golden mirrors.
Are you desperately in search of that cd impossible to find in the stores? Give the stands a chance and maybe you will find what you desire. Cds, Dvd, even old VHS, and a lot of vinyl records, for the music enthusiasts this is heaven!
Personally I love globes, especially the very ancient ones, those huge globes made of wood that you often see in the museums. You won’t find one of those on sale at the stands, but last time I went to the market I found a stand that has many of the smaller one, perfect to decorate the home office and give a boost to our travel bucket list. I’ll probably buy one next time!
The Vintage and Antiquities market of Verona is a nice way to spend the day discovering an event that not everyone knows, but remember, it takes place in that square only every first Sunday of the month.
