Architecture in Chicago | A photo tour

Chicago the windy city. A photo tour of the city on www.theitalianwanderer.com

I have to say that the city of Chicago is the one that surprised me more during my experience and travels around the USA. I didn’t know what to expect from the Windy city, so I was open to almost everything.

While I was studying in Louisiana, I managed to spend a long weekend with two Italian friends of mine that happened to be in the US, it was destiny that brought us there at the very same time, but that’s another crazy and funny story.

Anyway, the city surprised me, and what I liked most is its architecture. Beautiful buildings, a very nice city structure, the stunning view of the skyline from the ferry tour we booked.

I really loved its buildings, the parks, the art that is spread all around the city area. It is a breezy wide city surrounded by nature, the stunning views of Lake Michigan are a perfect example of this blend. Chicago is the third biggest city in the US for its population, but the feeling while visiting is not one of being in a very crowded place. What I didn’t like? The wind of course! It was sooo cool I had to stop an buy me a jacket because I underestimated its nickname and I didn’t bring one with me!

My favorite spots have been the Millennium Park, the view of the city from the ferry tour, the skyline you can see from the Buckingham Fountain and, of course, the funny Cloud Gate.

I really would like to visit the city again because I feel that I didn’t see everything that it has to offer to visitors, actually in only 3 days it’s quite impossible to see much! I would love to read your suggestions and your favorite places in the city, I will keep them in mind for my next visit.

Those memories are the ones that make me remember Chicago, and there’s no better way to explain it that through my photos. Enjoy!
